I didn’t do much writing last week, but I did discover something interesting about the writing process itself.
| Week 14 number of words written: | 105 |
| Total number of words written to date: | 5903 |
| How I’m feeling about it: | Curious |
I’ve been working on Act II of the book, and what I’ve realized is that writing all those chapters is quite different from how I approached the six chapters in Act I.
Yep, this one’s for the fellow book-writing nerds out there…
Act II takes the main domains of performance psychology and presents them in the context of marketing leadership for marketing leaders to gain a whole new toolset.
And here’s the potential pitfall with that:
Act II could come off as highly academic if I don’t incorporate enough of a lived experience – from me and the ~100 marketing leaders I’ve interviewed and learned from.
So I’ve been tinkering more intentionally.
I only got to 105 words last week, but those words map to finding the way into these 10 chapters of Act II, which felt like a pretty good use of time.
The other thing it did? It somehow got my curiosity going again.
